Hello everyone and Happy New Year!!!

I really wanted to finish this model before the end of 2008 but it turned out rather harder than I'd thought. Anyway, here it is at the dawn of 2009, another glamour/kink style gal. For this one I wanted to create an aristocratic character that conveys the feeling of tension through contrast on all levels, contrast in colour, surfaces and materials as well as sensory contrast, the loose shirt on top against the constraining skirt. The equestrian element is a
reference to someone I met, and by someone I don't mean a horse...heh.
The rendering was done with mental ray and I used photoshop to composite it. I wanted to use the "true" DOF effect in mr but I faked it with z-depth as it was very slow. I hope you enjoy it.

Here are a couple more shots and some wires

This is my latest 3d character I've been working on for some time. It was inspired from a photograph of Tricia Helfer I once saw. I wanted to create a smiling character and study human anatomy through modelling a detailled female body. That's one of the reasons why she doesn't wear much clothing on. I experimented with the skin shader in mr and tried some new texture painting techniques in BodyPaint. I did some compositing and colour correction in photoshop.
I wanted to practise my modelling skills but most of all my shading techniques and lighting. The gal is based on one of my comic style drawings, which I haven't posted here yet. Only recently did i realize the resemblance it bore to Aphrodite IX. That was unintentional. I hope you like it.

Roger McGuinn

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I last posed anything so here is my new piece at last.
I wanted to pay tribute to the guitarist, singer and songwriter Roger McGuinn who was a guitarist and lead singer of one of the greatest folk rock bands called the Byrds, which also happens to be one of my favourite bands. The Byrds were really successful in the '60s and '70s. I originally wanted to recreate all 5 members of the band but I soon realized it would take a significant amount of time so that's one of five . The set I put him on is supposed to recreate the atmosphere of the Byrds' live performance as they appeared on the Sullivan show in 1965 with their hit song "Turn, Turn, Turn".I believe you could watch it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bvc7OBcykU
His guitar is a Rickenbacker 330/12, a twelve-string electric guitar which gave the characteristic "jangle" sound to all of their songs. I don't claim that my image bears a striking resemblance to the original as it was really hard to find enough reference to work from, but I hope that at least I've captured a bit of the spirit of that era. I hope guys like it, and rock on!
It represents a female cop of some sort who's obviously a member of some twisted squad that wants to conquer the world, hehe, or already has. Oh, what a description! The car is a Cadillac CTS, the girl is a redhead

I've made this image primarily to learn how to work with mental ray and its fantastic shaders and the skin shaders in particular, plus I kind of like Keira Knightley so why not use her as a base of operations. I also used photoshop and zbrush for the maps. I rendered it on 2 computers this time as it would've taken eons if I'd used just mine. I wanted to give the image a comercial look. I hope you could recognize her even if I hadn't named it "Keira Knightley" and I hope you like her.

Thank you for your time

Being a bit of a fanboy I decided to put some effort and try to create this image. I've never done anything like this before, there were some poor attempts though but they hardly deserve any notice. It represents my feeling towards someone I know basically.
I'm really happy about how it turned out and I hope you like it.

Back to the '70s with Steven Hyde

Hi everybody,

This model is based on the character from the "That '70s show" called Steven Hyde
although this one would probably fit better in a series called "That late '60s show" anyway.
The psychedelic background is an allusion to one of his favourite states of the mind and I supposed to add a bit of grooviness.
I want to thank Chris Erskine for his valuable comments and for his amazing HDRI I used
to light the scene.
The guy was rendered in finalRender and the hair in mental ray. I used quite a lot of tools on this one just to see how they all worked together, and it was real fun.

Well that's pretty much it, I hope you like him and see you around.
